Is a tetrapeptide with anti-oedema properties which reduces bags.
Acetyl tetrapeptide-5 works in two ways:
Inhibits glycation in the skin around the eyes. Glycation normally causes abnormal and disorganized crosslinking in the collagen fibers which causes the skin to be less elastic. This peptide binds to one of the proteins (SOD) that is involved in the Glycation, preventing this protein from binding to the next substance necessary to continue glycation and, therefore, stops this process.
Decreases the permeability of the blood vessels in the area and, thereby, decreases the amount of fluid that can accumulate in the periocular area.
